Leslie Knope, a mid-level bureaucrat, wishes to help a local nurse, Ann, convert a disused construction site into a community park but deals with red-tapism and self-centred neighbours.
Everything seems so real but also so unbelievable sometimes that it makes you wonder what you could accomplish in life if you truly follow your passion just like our main protagonist and all her friends.r a long time, and these two series are so similar but I genuinely think that when compared against each other, that this really deserves more high ratings, and much more popularity.f you are a fan off the office like me then you’ll probably be quite disappointed how long ago the show aired, with nothing seemingly of its type to come out recently. Parks and Rec does all of the things which the office does so well, genuinely funny and enjoyable characters, simple but fun episodes and characters which are genuinely interesting. The characters are all really different too, from patriotic, meat-loving Ron, to a distant, emo type character April, a joker and energetic Tom, as well as a variety of different other unique characters who introduce themselves throughout.
What makes it unique though is how it has an energy which the office doesn’t have, not only does it feel much more modern but it has a sense of engagement because of that which just really makes it so gripping. The film has a really entertaining vibe to it, it clearly doesn't take itself too seriously and this really pays off, because it really doesn't feel like it is trying too hard, the jokes are witty and subtle, but also slapstick and very clear, but the combination of these jokes is done superbly well resulting in individual characters who each feel unique and exciting.
From start to finish, the show offers an unpredictable nature, whilst providing an immersive experience into the stories and experiences of the characters - the series follows on a series of different and unique stories and plots throughout each episode, which helps to make each one feel fresh and exciting, whilst maintaining the good level of character engagement and humour throughout.
This is definitely a show which goes under the radar, and unfortunately doesn't recieve the popularity it deserves. Rightly so, The Office is one of the most highly-rated shows of all time, and will be for a long time, and these two series are so similar but I genuinely think that when compared against each other, that this really deserves more high ratings, and much more popularity.
Once you get into this one you can't stop. It has non stop laughs, but a real sense of engagement which is rare to find, and when combined with the hilarious humour, makes for a deadly combination. Although this series is set in a local government scenario, many things are painfully recognizable from other office environments. For lovers of mockumentary-style entertainment, this is a must-see. Genuinely, this is one of the most entertaining, funny and enjoyable series I've watched because it feels so enjoyable and unique, which helps to give each of the characters their own personalities and their own unique feeling when they come onto the screen. The addition of well-known names like Chris Pratt surprised me with their attendance at first, but genuinely feel at home and settle in really well.
